Valuable Lesson Learned in the Past 5 Minutes

Do NOT leave your window wide open without a screen. I've been doing this for a long time (almost a year) at work. I have two big windows right by my desk which I like to open frequently. I've often wondered what I would do if some uninvited vermin were to enter my workspace via the screen-less gaping hole in the side of my building. I've entertained a wasp and a bee - both of which met their final doom shortly after entering my arena. Today, a poor little finch fluttered his way in and got most decidedly confused as he bumped and rattled around above my desk. With helpful words from Mr. Bossman such as "those things poop a lot", my coworkers and I attempted to shoo it out the window. I managed to scare it away from my desk into the conference room. Mr. Bossman decided his "poop a lot" comment was not helpful enough and I was not getting a lot of work doing chasing the little birdie, so he fearlessly grabbed it with one hand and threw it out an open window. Screens are now in place to avoid further work disruptions.
