When it rains...

Friday evening, Hubby and I had a graduation open house to attend. Being the environmentally-conscious people that we are, we decided to walk the mile and save the increasingly pricey gasoline in our vehicles. As an added bonus, we would get some exercise and possibly earn the cake and ice cream waiting for us at the end of our journey. So we plopped Reagan in her stroller and set out, feeling smugly satisfied with our great decision. Half way there, we realized the dark clouds on the horizon were no longer on the horizon and were ominously hovering above us. With little discussion, Hubby turned around to walk home and get the car. Reagan and I continued. I really hoofed it - thereby earning 2 cupcakes - and almost beat Hubby to the party. While there, the skies opened up for a bit and we were exceedingly glad that we had the brains to spend our expensive gas on such a trip.

Saturday I attended an all-day scrapbooking party. At 10:00 am I sat down, opened up my boxes of paper, pens, pictures, etc. With a few breaks for lunch and supper, I scrapped and booked until 8:00 pm. And I must say, I got quite a bit done - 40 pages to be exact. Apparently, this is a record. At any rate, I had a lot of fun and got a lot accomplished. Reagan got to spend all day with Grandma and the two of them seemed to enjoy each other's company immensely.

Sunday morning was uneventful. I held Reagan for most of the morning and boy did my arms ache! Ugh. Sunday evening I was praise team leader. Now, I can double check, but I'm fairly certain "substitute preacher" is not on the job description for praise team leader. Our visiting pastor didn't so much show up on time and I was told to "stall" and "go slow" until he got here. So after a jittery quickly altered service plan, we began our worship service. Just into the first song, the assigned preacher showed up. It wasn't the smoothest service we've ever conducted, but it all worked out very well in the end and, I think, was incredibly meaningful.
