We had our doctor appointment this morning and everything is going VERY well. We are so thankful for the smooth sailing we have had so far. The baby is doing great - still has a strong heartbeat. I am doing well too. There are always a few odd discomforts and aches, but certainly nothing I am not willing to put up with ten-fold if need be. Side note: I am incubating the future world cup soccer champion. And I must say if someone on another team on international television insulted me to my child’s face, I would feel particularly gratified if he (or she) stuck up for me - even if it meant head-butting the offender. I’m just sayin’. Anyway, it was just very reassuring to hear that we are doing things right and our little one is doing well.
I have to write a series of prayers for a bunch of church services - eight in total. I have never written a prayer before. I normally just pray. I normally just write odd little pieces - like the ones you find here. I do not normally combine the two activities. However, the spirit moved me to volunteer to do this. So I did it. The prayers are based on Psalm 51. I wrote my first one, emailed it off to the pastor and he said he "very much liked" what I had written and added only a few minor changes. I feel validated for some reason that a pastor has given my prayer the stamp of approval.
As you know, I have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). It isn’t horrible, just noticeable if you live with me. One of my compulsions is to-do lists. I make them day in and day out. If on Wednesday morning I remember something I had to do this week, but already did on Monday, I will write it on the list and then promptly cross it off. I have this sick little obsession with boxes which have check marks in them. Occasionally these lists have really saved my bacon. But more often than not, I know everything that is on the list and the only reason I make one is to give myself a pat on the back when I finish a task.
