I’m a sucker for an afternoon nap. Seldom a Saturday or Sunday goes by wherein I don’t find some time (30 minutes to 3 hours) for a solid refreshing nap. Of course these horizontal vacations are always on the sofa with the television on a low volume level in the background. This weekend I was lazy...er...spoiled enough to snatch not only my never-missed Sunday nap, but also a Saturday nap. Saturday I snoozed on the sofa in the basement with the soft hum of hubby mowing the lawn lulling me to sleep. Sunday I again snoozed on the sofa while hubby watched a thrilling golf match (sense my sarcasm people). Both times I woke up feeling refreshed and, while not any more energetic, certainly satisfied.
Unfortunately, my happiness ends there. Sunday night sleep was hard to come by. There was plenty of tossing and turning. It seems my 2 hour snooze was then subtracted from my sleep allotment for the night. Nuts! What’s worse is that today, a perfectly normal and lovely day, has brought with it a dull sleep headache. They are different than regular headaches. These sleep headaches don’t really hurt as much as they make your head feel like it weighs as much (if not more than) the rest of your body. And you know the only way to fix it would be to take the weight off your shoulders by, of course, lying down for a few minutes. So it would seem that I am not only capable of forming an addiction in 48 hours or less, I am also as capable of justifying the remedy to my problem of too much sleep with taking another nap.
And for those of you who may or may not be interested, carpet is supposedly being installed as we speak...or type...or read...WHERE is my couch!!!
