The rest of Tulip Time passed us by quietly and discreetly. We walked around downtown one afternoon/evening and had our fill of way too many people by about 6:30. We were party poopers and we rather enjoyed it. It was very peaceful.
Thursday night we ate downtown at various booths. My first selection was a good old fashioned hot dog. It was good. Nothing to write home about - but I guess I kinda just did. Then Brian and I selected the most heavenly strawberry smoothie. THAT hit the spot! Don't ask me what spot that is. We just know it was the right one. Brian also waited in line for some sweet n sour chicken and rice which he said was "good". There is a reason that I have a blog and he doesn't. Men of few words have no business giving food reviews. Thus ended our Thursday tour of tulip time food stands.
Friday morning I had yet another bbq pork sandwich and I am pleased to report it was every bit as good as the first one. That afternoon we went downtown again for supper. This time I selected potato wedges with nacho cheese. This is now one of my must-haves each and every tulip time. They had a delightfully crunchy exterior and a sinfully yummy interior - all smothered in some nacho dairy goodness. At this same booth I found my cheesecake on a stick. However, this year they eliminated the stick. I was a little disappointed. But the cheesecake was very smooth and flavorful - covered by a nice chocolate coating. Enjoyable. Brian selected a chicken sandwich which he devoured in three bites so I am not sure he could give you a review even if he had the words. I take anything that is devoured in three bites to be good. Icky food is hard to eat fast. On the way home he purchased a pricey ice cream dessert which he said was good but he really couldn't brag on. That was the end of our tulip time festivities.
On Saturday we saw my brother graduate from college. His future plans are to...go back. Tom, I seriously don't know how you do that. It was a really nice day and we had a good time with my family.
Of course, as most of you know, we have some special news to share. We are expecting a baby on or about November 17. All is going well and we just continue to pray that we all remain healthy and strong. We are very happy and excited to welcome a new member into our family and praise God for this special gift!!
