Make a joyful swish

It begins when we are small children. We wake up from a scary dream, crying, scared, calling for mom. We keep calling until we hear it, the soft swish swish swish of her slippers coming across the carpet to hold us. Then we know everything will be okay.

For women, it follows into becoming an adult. We say all kinds of things about what style wedding dress we want and how we don’t want to look like a giant marshmallow. But inevitably we choose the princess dress. The one that goes swish swish swish when we walk down the aisle. Then we know we have found not only the perfect dress, but also love.

Years later, we sit in a doctor’s office...waiting. Its taken years to get to this moment. She lies on a table and he sits in a chair a few feet away. Anxious. Curious. Pensive. The doctor comes in, gets out a little machine, and we hear it. The soft swish swish swish of a tiny heart. A tiny life created by two people who have long prayed for and dreamed of this moment. She turns to look at him, he smiles widely. Then we know that our dreams are coming true.

I already know how it will sound when we are surrounded by angels - someday we will hear it. Swish swish swish.

Plus, the wipers on the bus make that sound.

Very good news on the heartbeat! God is so good!

I cried. What are these comments about wipers on the bus?
