Flying High in Hog Heaven

Despite the bitter cold outside, we managed to have a VERY nice weekend! Proving once and for all that a lazy person can be a happy person. Well, we were lazy persons for parts of the weekend anyway.

Friday night was uneventful. We stayed home - watched the Olympics in front of the fireplace. Saturday meant my usual cup o'heaven (aka cappucino) at Bible study. Those chicas rock! We are having such a good time together we are trying to decide what book to study next - we aren't even halfway through the one we have now! The rest of the day was spent organizing my music alphabetically (hey - it took a while) and watching Lord of the Rings Return of the King. Then off to Marshalltown to meet Dad, Mom and Tom (Jean's fam) for my birthday supper. We utterly annoyed our waitress by sitting there and chatting for a solid 2 hours or more. But she was annoying so we were just evening the score. Sunday was a very very busy day for me. We had a potluck at church to welcome our new pastor and family. I also had practice at 1:30 - 4:30 and then lead the service at 6:00. So I was there from about 9:00 a.m. to sometime around 7:30 p.m. - with an hour break. Ugh. I pretty much walked from the front of church straight to the car. I was S H O T. But it was awesome!!!!!!!!! We prepared a new song for the postlude and many people stuck around afterward to listen to it and sing along. They loved it - as does the band. The postlude is always the cut-loose moment for us. We brought back a few goodies from past worship services. Our Agnus Dei drama was back and it was very cool. I have to sing it with my eyes closed or I might not be able to keep singing! We also did Victory in Jesus and I love that song more every time we do it. The people seem to love it as well - so many smiles and so many clapping along. Very celebratory. Very exciting worship.

And now I am back at work. The main question of the day has been - "so have you gotten "it" yet?". "It" refers to the nasty cold everyone and their dog seems to have gotten. I have not gotten "it" yet and I hope to avoid "it" altogether. Keep your germies on your own pen! You may not borrow mine.

Amy wins the prize for BEST GIFT EVER! She gave me an entire 1lb 1.25oz bag of Reese's Pieces! Hog heaven people. Hog heaven!
