Friday evening I went to a scrapbooking party for a short time. I didn't really have any scrapbooking to do, but I went nonetheless. When I got home I made approximately 30 thank you cards and filled out 17 of them.
Saturday morning I went to Bible Study and chatted it up with the girls for about 90 minutes. When I got home I tackled such projects as laundry, making caramel apples, making phone calls, making dinner plans. At around 1 my mom came over and we gave her the grand baby-products tour. We are finding it is much more fun to show other people our baby progress than to just take the baby tour ourselves. A little while later mom, hubby and I attended a webcast baby shower from our way fun family in Michigan. It was a lot of fun! We snacked and laughed. Then the three of us went out for dinner. After dinner mom headed home and hubby and I went to some friends' house to watch the Hawkeyes lose to Ohio State.
Sunday morning we went to church and had a really neat communion service. The music was awesome, the sermon was awesome, even the children's sermon was awesome. Of course our afternoon held the normal routine of eating a huge meal, taking a nap, and going over our finances. After church on Sunday night we went home to watch a few tv shows and get ready for our week.
And now it is Monday and I am sitting at my desk feeling like a tornado just went through my brain. I hear about how some women really hit this wall toward the end of their pregnancies. I think I may have just figured out what that is like. I feel good. But mentally I am just shutting down left and right. Its embarrassing, but necessary, to admit this. And along with my diminishing mental capacity comes a lower tolerance for all things annoying. Maybe this is just a small funk I find myself in. Maybe in a few days I will snap out of it. Or maybe I should just learn to accept and enjoy it.

The brain shutting off some of your responses thing also happens on low sleep. Trust me, I know. I lost that mental feedback loop that lets you know if you say something stupid at the end of last semester. It was probably entertaining for my friends, though.
