This past weekend was an absolute flurry of activity. I hosted a bridal shower on Saturday morning. It went well. We had a good time. My husband is my hero (yet again) because he was so helpful through the whole deal. He cleaned, he babysat, he ran errands, he returned borrowed items. He's a keeper.
Immediately after the shower, my sister and I began our creative nursery painting project. And I am happy to report that it turned out just as good as I imagined - dare I say, even BETTER than I imagined! The great thing about sisters is that we do things alike without really realizing it. My sister and I paint very similarly.
Immediately after the painting of the nursery, Brian's family came over to help us move around some furniture - because, you know, I'm not "allowed". They moved all of our furniture, except for the entertainment center ("Beast One") and the kitchen table ("Beast Two") into the basement. They also assisted with carpet and staple removal.
We have now officially taken up residence in the basement. Well, almost. We still eat upstairs. We cook upstairs. We also still use our upstairs bathroom for showering and morning and night rituals. Our upstairs nursery contains all of our dresser drawers (but not the dressers). Our bedroom closets contain all of our hanging clothes. So you can imagine how confused I am from time to time in the morning when I wake up in the basement and nothing is the way it has been for the past 4 years. Yes, its confusing. We also have the added challenge of wearing shoes everywhere we go in the house to avoid injury on the completely bare floors of the upper rooms. Have I mentioned the joy that is Osama bumping into the basement windows all morning and all day long?
So in short, we are not accepting visitors at this time. Believe me, you aren't missing anything!
