Every time people ask me how our weekend was I give the same answer: uneventful. So for those of you who are tired of hearing me say "uneventful", and for myself who is tired of saying something so uninspiring, I answer your unspoken question as follows: "My weekend was thrilling". And now I have to prove myself...rats.
Friday night Brian went to a basketball game and I watched "In Her Shoes". Good movie - in a count-your-blessings sort of way. Anybody want to go shoe shopping??
Saturday morning I had my small group bible study at Smokey Row. I can’t figure out what I love more about that bible study - the girls, the book, the discussions, or the large french vanilla cappuccino which satiates me for 90 minutes. Whatever it is, it is worth getting out of bed at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday. Brian managed to lose his wallet for about an hour on Saturday morning. This caused a great deal of excitement. It was found. By the way, the best hiding spot in our house is on the piano in the basement. I had a 3 hour praise band practice Saturday afternoon. There is a continuing discussion of naming our little band "Wing It". That becomes more and more true as each "gig" approaches/passes.
Sunday morning we had a really good sermon. My favorite phrase from it was "This is life. We are not passengers on a cruise ship. We are on a battleship." Wow. Eyes. Opened. We had a potluck for lunch. Potluck. Where did this word come from? The food comes in a "pot" and if you eat it and don’t get sick you are in "luck"? You cook one "pot" of food and you are in "luck" because you don’t have to make the other courses? You have to cook one "pot" and are in "luck" if it turns out? Someone please explain. I guess this thing called the Super Bowl was on last night. I don’t even watch for the commercials.
And on a fun note, I got three compliments on my GAP jeans this weekend. Brian was horrified. Now I have a great excuse to go buy another pair. Ha! I love you people!!!!

For people like me who don't really cook, I agree with potluck being that you're in luck because you only have to make one course. But then again, I rarely make more than one course, so why should I care?
Oh, and I need to come jean shopping with you next time, I can never find the good ones!
